Yazd and the Solar Eclipse of 2003, 2005, 2006 and.....

Yazd as well as a few other cities in Iran on August 11th 1999 were the main viewing sites for the highly publicized last eclipse of the millennium. The reason why Yazd was one of the main viewing sites is because of the 0.99 phase of the eclipse (or very close to a total eclipse) in addition to its mostly clear skies. Also Yazd has historical observatories dating back to the first millennium.  Click on the eclipse photo  to see Yazd eclipse data ranging from 1700 AD to 2100 AD.
